SOUTHWEST MINNEAPOLIS. Encompassing several horticultural areas, this space is well-known locally for its rose garden, the nation's second-oldest municipal rose garden. Located on Lake Harriet, the garden promotes quiet, contemplative time away from the hustle and bustle of an urban environment. Meticulously cared for, the garden features more than 4000 plants and 250 species. Two fountains border the garden; the bronze-and-marble Hefflefinger Fountain is from the Villa Montalto near Florence, Italy. Rock gardens and perennial gardens are also featured. |
