The San Antonio takes on a distinctive hue and becomes an honorary River Shannon during the course of the weekend's festivities. A boisterous river pub crawl commences the weekend, which ends on a more sedate note as barges cruise the emerald waters during Sunday's River Parade. You might need a bit of luck to beat the crowd – this 3-day bash attracts an estimated 18,000 attendees. |

Over the course of the weekend, reenactments encourage observers to take a fresh look at both the Texan and Mexican sides of the battle. Period music and cannon demonstrations help bring history to life. A moving sunrise ceremony commemorates the Alamo's fall. |

"Something for everyone" might be an understatement when it comes to Fiesta San Antonio!, a 10-day citywide celebration. Art exhibits, lively parades, jazz concerts, fashion shows, face-painting, and dancing are a small sampling of over 100 events. The memory of the Battle of San Jacinto and the Alamo supply a backdrop for spirited proceedings and are remembered in the Battle of Flowers parade, in which blossom-festooned horses and cars meander through the streets.
