Description:
GLEN ROSE. On a 1500-acre site once used as a wild game ranch, this nature preserve shelters more than 1000 free-roaming exotic animals. The conservation-minded park offers a refuge for rare and endangered species and makes every effort to ensure that its inhabitants are able to thrive and propagate. A 9.5-mile road through the sanctuary grants visitors a view of the animals' daily lives. In conjunction with exhibits, children are provided a variety of activities that educate them and foster an appreciation of life in all its incarnations. Along with a petting pasture, fossil hunts, and a wildlife walk, visitors will find a restaurant, a nature store, and accommodations. Located 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth in Glen Rose. |
