Its black-and-white interior gets a color punch with bright murals created by local artists. The bar is a perennially favorite destination, as evidenced by throngs of patrons and hopping bartenders. Inside, DJs often play to energetic folks, while on the terrace, live bands regale guests with a range of musical styles. Should you become hungry, the menu offers appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and a handful of hot entrees. A great place to nurse a drink, socialize, and listen to music with friends.

Recognized for its quality and atmosphere by the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music, this facility books weekly entertainment by artists such as Robert Earl Keen, Sammy Kershaw, Willie Nelson, Emilio, and Lorrie Morgan. Other attractions include live bull riding and ladies night. Within the enormous complex, you'll find numerous dance floors, pool tables, arcade games and dining areas. A word to the wise: Cover charges may exceed $30 on some nights.

        Description: STOCKYARDS. For a touch of Western flair, mosey on into Booger Red's. A mounted buffalo, saddles serving as bar stools, and authentic memorabilia remind guests what part of the world they're in. Named for bronc-buster Samuel Thomas Privett, the saloon is a great place to hang out and sample a tequila or savor a top-notch stogie. Beer, of course, is a mainstay, especially the Buffalo Butt Beer, a house signature. A selection of bar food is available if you want help dispersing the alcohol. No matter your intent, the place makes for a fun evening and gives you a great vantage point for the energy of the Stockyards.

The venue is actually a collection of clubs where you can indulge in a multitude of temptations. Cages boasts Top 40 tunes and dancing; Blue Monkey's forte is karaoke; Atlantis spins music from the '70s and '80s in an underwater-themed space; and Racks N Balls gives folks a cool place to sit back, watch sports on the tube, and join in on everything from eight ball to a game or two of foosball. A terrific outing for groups of friends who want a little bit of everything.

Specializing in "contemporary ranch cuisine," the menu capitalizes on local ingredients and traditions. The place's signature dish, pepper-crusted, pan-seared tenderloin with ancho bourbon sauce, is an example of the fare available. The Ancho Bar offers patrons a comfortable spot in which to enjoy cordials, wines and a menu of upscale bar food, along with many of the restaurant's dishes. The bar's clean-lined, rustic decor is a frequent backdrop for post-dinner gatherings and after-work get-togethers. If the restaurant's crowded, the bar is also a good place to grab a quick bite.

        Description: STOCKYARDS. This 100-year-old saloon, once a hangout for 19th-century cowboys selling cattle, is still one of the city's best Wild West bars. Serving cold beer and offering C&W music seven nights a week, the saloon boasts an outdoor patio with live bands during the summer. Plus, you'll find pool tables and a dance floor. For added ambience, the ceiling is lined with hats belonging to cowboys from long ago. An added touch of nostalgia comes in the bar's annual re-enactment of Fort Worth's last gunfight, which took place just outside the saloon. It's staged annually on February 8th (for details, call 817-624-9712). The long-lived watering hole is just what you'd imagine a Texas saloon should be. A must-see!
